De Gruyter Brill enters new open access agreements and partnerships (with Diamond OA inside)

Good morning EDCH Community. Interesting news from DGB. Read from the press release:

Diamond OA expansion
De Gruyter Brill is expanding its diamond open access program through 2025 and 2026 with 5 new journals signed this year and more on the horizon. These journals are free to read and free to publish in, thanks to collaborations with libraries, funders, authors, and scholarly societies. The diamond open access model is particularly valuable for journals in the humanities and social sciences, where traditional open access funding mechanisms are less common.

I would be curious to understand if they define Diamond OA as we do : Operational Diamond Open Access Criteria for Journals - DIAMAS

I am not sure,a nd we should ask them. In the past, BDG has presented S2O arrangement as Diamond, which of course is not correct: S2O is Diamond-adjacent in the sense that readers and authors do not pay, but ownership of the journal remains with the publisher and OA is time-limited and dependent on the participating libraries.
