How can libraries support Diamond OA journals? The consortial solutions proposed by KOALA (recording available)

The CCSD is organising a webinar (in English) on:

If you are interested in the sustainability of Diamond Open Access and believe it is essential to contribute to a diverse scholarly publishing landscape, join this session dedicated to the role of libraries in funding journals through the KOALA project.

This is a great opportunity to shed light on one of the many ways Diamond OA can be sustainably funded.

  • The Diamond OA model offers an alternative to APCs and commercial logics: no fees for authors, no fees for readers. Instead, public institutions—especially libraries and research centres—play a key role in ensuring journals can continue publishing with rigorous editorial and dissemination standards.
  • The KOALA project proposes practical solutions tailored to the administrative constraints of libraries and research institutes, making it easier for them to contribute to a FAIR and sustainable open science ecosystem.

Speakers:

  • Fabian Hennig (Coordinator, KOALA project)

  • RaphaĂ«l Tournoy (CCSD, Head of the Episciences platform)

  • Delphine Crubellier (CCSD, Development and International Promotion of Episciences)
