Hi all,
The Open Book Collective has just launched its 2026 call for projects under the Collective Development Fund, which may be of interest to those working on OA scholarly books, infrastructures, or community-led publishing initiatives.
The fund supports projects of up to 12 months, with grants ranging from £7,500 to £15,000, and a strong focus on bibliodiversity, non-commercial models, and community-led approaches. Applications are open globally and can be submitted in English, French, Spanish, or Portuguese.
The call is open until 7 March 2026, and there is also an optional scope check available until 7 February 2026 if you want early feedback on whether your project fits the fund’s priorities.
Priority areas include:
- OA book infrastructures, workflows, and preservation
- Networks, advocacy, and community-building around OA books
- Capacity building for OA book publishing
If you’re working on books (not journals) and looking for funding to support non-commercial, community-driven initiatives, this could be a good opportunity.
