I’ve been to a few webinars on the topic but this blog might help you:
Thank you for sharing
The intention with this post was indeed to open up discussion and exchange of resources.
Hello! It may be interesting to explore this within our ALMASI project, as we develop Training Resources under WP3. We actually have a learning path that discusses Mastering Editorial Work but I don’t recall, or see (while I am checking) any mentions of AI in our preparations. Is the tools question limited by which software a journal uses?
Hello @fmysta!
No! My question is indeed general. For example, a journal might use OJS for editorial management, but then use tools like Penelope.ai to help validate whether articles meet the formal requirements set by the journal, etc. The idea here is to learn about the experiences of various editors—whether they use such tools, whether they would like to use them but don’t know they exist. In Portugal, what we’ve been doing (within the @pubin project) is raising awareness about the importance of having a policy on the use of artificial intelligence for all stakeholders involved in the process (editors, authors, reviewers, etc.). The tools exist, but great care is needed to ensure their ethical use, and we are working to raise awareness about this. Editors, however, frequently ask us which tools they can use to assist with this work. Although we are aware of some tools, we don’t have real experience using them from the perspective of an editor or editorial assistant, as we are not currently part of any journal team. That’s why we’re promoting this sharing here on the forum.
Did I answer the question?

In EIFL, we published a selection of resources on AI uses in publishing.
EIFL. (2025). Generative AI in Diamond Open Access Publishing. Zenodo. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17580185
It’s not about individual tools but rather about polices and general approaches.
I was just about the share these! @milica.sevkusic They arrived in my inbox this morning via liblicense-l@groups.io
