Strategies to improve the visibility of journals and platforms

Diamond OA journals often struggle to gain visibility. There are several strategies that can help, such as using persistent identifiers, Search Engine Optimization, registering with indexing services like DOAJ, exposing structured metadata through public protocols. However, implementing these strategies requires a certain level of technical knowledge and sometimes technical support.
What strategies have you (or your institution) used to increase journal visibility? How did you learn about these strategies? Did you need support to implement them? Were you able to measure their effectiveness?

This webinar from CRAFT-OA looks really interesting and might have some suggestions about the help with boosting Diamond OA journals visibility!

This webinar is part of EIFL’s series OJS: Best practices and use cases. You can also watch the recordings of previous sessions:

Visibility is in focus in Webinar 4 (organized in collaboration with the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and PKP) - How clear journal information and policies help journals get indexed in DOAJ, why good metadata matters, and how to use OJS for DOAJ indexing and content delivery.
